Aven's operations shall be characterized by active environmental work.
At Aven, sustainability isn't just a trend, it's our core value. We are deeply committed to reducing our environmental impact and creating products and processes that promote a sustainable future. Our belief is that every step towards sustainability contributes to a positive impact on both society and the planet.
FSC® and PEFC Certified Raw Materials
Our vision goes beyond just producing packaging – we aim to deliver sustainable solutions. Aven strives to provide optimal and sustainable packaging, and we can now offer wood that is environmentally certified according to FSC® and PEFC, should the customer desire. Packaging made from Nordic coniferous wood is not only a greener alternative but also a gem for a green outcome. We use only timber from sustainable forestry, where planting exceeds harvesting. At the same time, the trees used in our production do not emit more CO2 than when they were grown. By choosing Aven, you also choose a more sustainable future. Our commitment extends to the production process, where by-products from our production are used as fuel for heating plants, minimizing waste and optimizing resource use.
Heat Treatment and ISPM 15
To achieve global sustainability and safety, we hold a license from the Swedish Board of Agriculture and adhere to the standard for heat treatment according to ISPM 15. This standard requires wooden packaging to be heat-treated to eliminate any pests when crossing country borders.
Quality Management System
We are also certified according to the requirements of SS EN ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001. Our pursuit of sustainability is a journey where each step moves in harmony with nature and a greener future.

We work long-term to meet the needs of our customers and the climate.
Transparency with EPD Certification
Credibility largely hinges on transparency. EPD Norway has approved Aven's tool for calculating the CO2 and environmental impact of pallets through all stages of their lifecycle. EPDs are developed according to ISO standard 14025 (Environmental labels and declarations Type III) for each individual pallet you purchase from us, along with its delivery address, ensuring your confidence in a credible calculation of climate and environmental impact. The stages are divided into the following categories:
- Production phase - extraction and use of raw materials and energy to manufacture the finished pallets based on company-specific data.
- Use phase - distribution and use of the pallets (including maintenance, repair, and replacement).
- End-of-life phase - recycling or disposal of the pallets. The EPD allows you to compare the environmental impact of using different products, enabling you to make the most sustainable choices.
Aven's Environmental Policy - a continuous improvement process
Aven Companies' operations are characterized by active environmental work, where dialogue with employees, customers, suppliers, and authorities is central. Our environmental management system coordinates and controls all environmentally impacting activities throughout the entire operation. Our environmental management system is certified according to the requirements of SS EN ISO 14001.
